Tofu Steak

1 pack tofu (drain water well and cut into bite sized pieces)
10 cm Japanese leek (chopped)
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp *sugar
2 tbsp *soy sauce
2 tbsp *sake
2 tbsp *mirin


Heat the sesame oil in a pan and sear the tofu on both sides until golden brown. Add the *Sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer, shaking the pan from time to time and basting the tofu with a spoon until the sauce thickens and glaze the tofu. Serve with chopped Japanese leek and crushed chili pepper on top.
