Lemon Pound Cake

1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons lemon extract
3 cups flour
12 teaspoon baking soda
12 teaspoon baking powder
12 teaspoon salt
2 12 cups powdered sugar
14-12 cup lemon juice


Put all ingredients for cake in bowl and beat 3 minutes. Pour in greased and floured tube pan. Bake @ 325 degrees approximately an hour. (I tend to underbake this cake a bit it is moist and delicious). LEMON GLAZE: Mix 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar and lemon juice until its smooth but still thick. Pour over cake while still hot. (I usually poke holes in this cake with a skewer so the icing will penetrate).
