Apple Dumplings

1 gala apple
1 can 8 ct. crescent rolls
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 can lemon lime soda (mello yello, mt dew)


Preheat oven to 350 Peel & core apple. Slice into 8 pieces. Spray 8x8 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Tear crescent rolls into 8 pieces & roll each apple slice into crescent rolls. Add to pan in a single layer. Melt butter & pour over each dumpling. Mix both sugars & cinnamon together and sprinkle over each dumpling. Pour soda around the sides. Do not pour on top of dumplings. Make sure it covers dumplings half way. Bake for 20-25 minutes until tops are golden. Serve with vanilla ice cream. (Optional)
