Tofu with Soy Sauce & Garlic

4 cloves Garlic, Minced
4 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 block Japanese Pressed Tofu Or Silken Tofu (1 Pound Block)
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce

In a shallow frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil. Then add minced garlic and cook until golden brown. Do not leave garlic and oil in the pan when its done as it will continue to brown and then burn in the residual heat. Pour into a cool bowl and set aside. Remove tofu block from its packaging. If you want to serve this cold, proceed to the next step. If serving warm, add a dash of water into the pan and once its simmering add the tofu and steam it for 2-3 minutes. Then pour away the water that has pooled at the bottom of the serving dish. I do not recommend using the microwave as it may cause the tofu to explode. Put your tofu onto a plate. Spoon soy sauce and the fried garlic with oil over the top. You can choose to cut it into cubes to serve or leave a spoon on the dish for everyone to scoop out their own portion. Messy but fun!
