Country Vanilla Ice Cream

4 large eggs
2 1/2 cups sugar
6 cups milk
4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 x rock salt for electric freezer


Beat eggs. Add sugar, gradually to beaten eggs, beating well after each of these additions. When mixture becomes very stiff add remaining ingredients and mix together milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt thoroughly. Pour into 1 gallon electric freezer with rock salt around the outside of gallon can and freeze until hard.
