Better Homes and Gardens Apple Bacon Burger

12 lb Italian sausage
12 lb ground beef
2 granny smith apples
8 slices bacon
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
4 hamburger buns


Core and finely chop one apple. Mix sausage, beef and chopped apple and shape into burgers. Grill directly over medium high heat for 4-5 minutes per side (until pink no longer remains). While burgers are cooking, cook bacon and toast hamburger buns. In a small bowl stir together mayonnaise, mustard and honey. Put mayo-honey-mustard spread on a toasted bun and top with cooked burger. Core and slice an additional green apple. Place 2 slices of apple and 2 slices of bacon on top of burger. Top with other bun half and enjoy!
