Oatmeal Bread

1/2 cups Water
2 packages Yeast
1- 3/4 cup Warm Milk
1/4 cups Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Salt
3 Tablespoons Butter
6 cups Flour
1 cup Rolled Oats


Dissolve yeast in warm water (water should be 115 degrees). Add warm milk (also at 115 degrees), sugar, salt, butter, and oats. Beat for 1 minute. Add 2 cups of flour and beat for another minute. Add 3 cups of flour and mix. If dough is of desired consistency, continue on; if not, add the additional 1 cup of flour. Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased loaf pans and let rise until doubled in size. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 400F. You want the bread to be a golden brown.
