Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

1 cup rolled oats
13 cup vegetable oil
1 each eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1 1/2 cup blueberries
1 cup flour, unbleached all-purpose
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


Soak oats in milk until moisture is absorbed. Add salad oil, egg, brown sugar and blueberries and mix thoroughly. Mix together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, salt, allspice and nutmeg and add to oat mixture. Mix thoroughly. Fill greased muffin cups 23 full. Bake in a 400F (200C) oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
